Welcome to the omgwtfhax IRC Network.

The OWH IRC network is an Internet Relay Chat network. Just like other IRC networks, we try to provide the free service for you to experience chat at its best!

Our network is accessable for anyone who would like to have a nice chat, meet people, and of course fun. The users on our network come from all over the world. You can also create your own chat rooms and invite your friends. It is also possible to place a webchat on your website.

Next to fun, safety of our users is an important subject to us. We like to keep our network safe, clean and secure. To make sure that we are able to do this, we have several security systems active that will keep us up to date of statuses of our servers, keep logs, and ban abusive users. To read more about our networks safety, go to the About -> Safety tab in the upper menu, or click here.

Creating your own chatroom for your website

It is possible to place a webchat client on your website, using the generator on our website. This way you can talk to your friends anytime you want online. This service is 100% free of charge. However, you need to remember that using this chat, you will accept our main Network Use Policy. To register your channel in order to protect it from takeovers or abuse, please read the basic commands at our support page. (We do not give support concerning chat rooms that are not related to our network.) By creating your chatroom we will automaticly provide you with certain protection, such as the masking of your users' hostnames, flood protection, abuse control, basic network services, support. For more information concerning the networks security, please look at our security page.

How to connect to our IRC network.

You can connect to our network using an IRC client like mIRC or irssi. For most IRC clients, the command used to connect to a server is /server. Please read the documentation of your irc client to see which command you should use. However, most browsers support a direct link to irc, which allows the browser to start up your installed IRC client, and connects to the network.

Click here if you have an IRC client that supports this method.

An alternative is the webchat, as it is browser-based. Currently we are using the LightIRC Flash Client for our webchat, because it is easy to use and has no annoying spam in it, unlike Mibbit. As you might have noticed, this client requires Flash. Please install a Flash Player, if you haven't already.

If you want to make use of our webchat, you can click on any channels on the right side of this page. or use the normal webchat page. Or click the Webchat button in the top menu.
